Victorians for Treaty

Treaty for Victoria logo. Text reads 'Let MPs know that Victorians support Treaty'. Photo of a protest crowd with Aboriginal flags and signs reading 'TREATY NOW!'

Send a letter to Leader of the Opposition, Jess Wilson, demonstrating your support for Treaty for Victoria!

On 12 December, Australia’s first Treaty, between the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria and the Victorian Government, commenced. This is a historic moment building on over 200 years of First Nations advocacy.

We have seen people from across the state welcome this milestone and celebrate Treaty. We know Victorians support Treaty: we support addressing the past and building a better future together. We support Aboriginal people having a say in the decisions that affect Aboriginal communities. We support honouring and sharing in the oldest living cultures and languages in the world.

This is your opportunity to communicate this support to opposition MPs and invite them to restore their party's support for Treaty. Treaty is a chance to choose reconciliation, not division; to listen to the voices of First Peoples who have been calling for Treaty for decades, and to join a historic moment.
